About the Role
An electrician performs all types of electrical jobs throughout the sand division, including maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery used in production and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
- Install, adjust, and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges, and instruments
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and coordinate electrical needs, repairs, and modifications
- Ensure manufacturer’s standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment
- Maintain good housekeeping
- Adhere to CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations, wearing proper safety equipment
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- 5 years of electrical maintenance experience
- 3 years’ experience in aggregate, cement, or heavy industrial operations preferred
- Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4160 volts
- Programmable logic control and digital drive experience
- High school graduate; Associate’s Degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual a plus
Skills
- Computer literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes; SAP experience a plus
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical manuals, reports, and instructions
- Ability to develop, read, and use mechanical, electrical, and structural sketches, blueprints, and drawings
- Good mathematical and mechanical aptitude
- Electrical troubleshooting skills and experience with motor control circuits and relay logic
Working Conditions
- Continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and outdoor environments
- Must wear protective equipment while on-site
Physical Requirements
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting (up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds constantly), pushing, pulling, and climbing
- Ability to communicate effectively and function safely around heavy equipment
