Electrical Repair

About the Role

An electrician performs all types of electrical jobs throughout the sand division, including maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery used in production and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
• Install, adjust, and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges, and instruments
• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and coordinate electrical needs, repairs, and modifications
• Ensure manufacturer’s standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment
• Maintain good housekeeping
• Adhere to CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations, wearing proper safety equipment
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• 5 years of electrical maintenance experience
• 3 years’ experience in aggregate, cement, or heavy industrial operations preferred
• Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4160 volts
• Programmable logic control and digital drive experience
• High school graduate; Associate’s Degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance preferred
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual a plus

Skills

• Computer literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes; SAP experience a plus
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read technical manuals, reports, and instructions
• Ability to develop, read, and use mechanical, electrical, and structural sketches, blueprints, and drawings
• Good mathematical and mechanical aptitude
• Electrical troubleshooting skills and experience with motor control circuits and relay logic

Working Conditions

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and outdoor environments
• Must wear protective equipment while on-site

Physical Requirements

• Requires walking, sitting, lifting (up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds constantly), pushing, pulling, and climbing
• Ability to communicate effectively and function safely around heavy equipment
