Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of effective reliability strategies for the electrical Infrastructure systems, including life cycle management, equipment obsolescence program, and collaborating with Shin-Etsu engineering team.
- Provide engineering expertise for low, medium, and high voltage electrical distribution systems with a focus on maintenance, reliability, electrical safety, and arc flash mitigation.
- Provide technical support and engineering solutions for manufacturing site initiatives, including power system design, modeling, and testing.
- Technical resources for capital project development and execution plans.
- Execute electrical design activities efficiently, offer technical expertise on maintenance activities, and provide troubleshooting support during construction and startup.
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs utilizing GPmate, maintenance history, and equipment performance records.
- Interpretation of electrical studies and modeling (load flow, arc flash, relay coordination, etc.).
- Review and approve electrical specifications, drawings, and construction work package documentation.
- Serve as a technical reviewer and subject matter expert during the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Participate in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and develop effective corrective actions to improve electrical reliability.
- Champion long-term maintenance and reliability strategies, including long-range planning and turnaround work scope development support.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, NETA, IEEE, and company standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive continuous improvement.
- Propose value-based engineering solutions, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and work with technical, project, and management teams.
Education and Experience
- Minimum Qualifications: Electrical Engineering Degree
- Five to seven years’ experience in the industrial manufacturing industry
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, reliability analysis tools, and software is essential.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for presenting findings and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to access all plant areas.
- Required to be medically fit for duty.
- Regularly required to push, pull, bend and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations.
- Climb stairs.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
- Comply with respirator fit tests (where applicable).
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as respirators, earplugs, goggles, hard hat, and steel-toed boots.
- Clean shaven.
