Electrical Purchasing Agent

About the role

Our client, an Electrical Contractor, is seeking an Electrical Purchasing Agent (Tampa, Florida) to be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electrical materials, tools, and equipment to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution. The ideal candidate has experience in the construction or electrical industry and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Procurement of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supplies
• Negotiating and coordinating shipping schedules with vendors
• Working with Project Managers for pricing/bid/job pricing of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supplies
• Managing incoming material/inventory and following up with suppliers on delivery requirements
• Understanding and communicating with field personnel about required materials/services and procurement time frames
• Negotiating with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services
• Creating, reviewing, and submitting purchase orders on time
• Troubleshooting discrepancies between purchase orders and material packers/invoice

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in electrical contracting or construction
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials, systems, and industry suppliers
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore, Sage, or Viewpoint is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
