Electrical Project Designer -- Energy & Industrial

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days a week in the office and two days remote.

About the Role

You will lead and work within a project team environment to design, modify, and upgrade new and existing power plant electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review, supervise, and provide technical guidance in the production of design deliverables, including:
    • Cable schedules
    • Grounding layout
    • Underground raceway layouts
    • Above ground raceway layouts
    • Electrical Notes and Details
    • Electrical Equipment Layouts
    • Lighting Layouts
  • Work with management to develop and establish project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Oversee staff assignments, evaluations, and career development for assigned personnel on large or multiple small projects.
  • Lead multiple teams across multiple projects.
  • Coordinate directly with project management and project discipline leads.
  • Develop, monitor, and control project costs and schedules.
  • Lead field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.

Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience.
  • 15 or more years of detailed physical design experience in:
    • Grounding layouts
    • Underground duct bank and embedded conduit drawings
    • Cable tray and exposed conduit layouts
    • Electrical equipment location drawings
  • Experience reviewing electrical physical layout drawings involving electrical equipment outlines and interface points.
  • Assist engineers with initial design requirements and produce physical construction layout drawings.
  • Extensive Microstation and/or AutoCAD design experience on power plants or large facility projects.
  • A thorough understanding of drafting and design practices and theories.
  • Ability to interface and communicate with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process.

Pay

Compensation range: $92,270.00 - $140,380.00. Eligible positions include a base salary or hourly rate, comprehensive benefits, and potential participation in a yearly discretionary bonus.
