Electrical Principal

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Principal to join our Building Engineering Services Group. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, establishing client relations, and leading the design and review processes for electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Cook up the work of Electrical Engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project's development
• Build client relationships and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings regarding electrical systems
• Take the lead on many projects and conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at the project site
• Review with various governing agencies for code compliance
• Keep track of the financial aspects of projects and coordinate the work effort with the team to ensure they are completed within the agreed-upon schedule
• Lead the activities of other electrical engineering professionals and act as a mentor to other staff members
• Handle other duties as needed

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
• Possession of a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
