Electrical Power System Engineer

Powder River Energy Corporation (PRECorp) is an electric cooperative serving five counties with residential and commercial electric service in Northeastern Wyoming. The Electrical System Engineer will play a vital role in our engineering department, focusing on load forecasting, long-range planning, operation support, distribution coordination, and protection, with opportunities to innovate and grow across the cooperative business.

Responsibilities

• Perform load forecasting and long-range planning for the electric system.
• Provide operation support and coordination for distribution systems.
• Develop and analyze system specifications and requirements.
• Conduct complex engineering analysis and planning.
• Utilize engineering software applications such as Milsoft WindMil and LightTable.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and ensure system reliability.
• Maintain knowledge of transmission and distribution system operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of electric utility or related experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication, member service, and problem-solving abilities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Milsoft WindMil, LightTable, and other engineering software applications.
• Valid driver’s license.
