Electrical Power Distribution Specialist

About the role

Responsibilities

• Install and connect control systems, power distribution systems, electrical switchgear, including components such as switchboards, panels, load centers, motor control centers, breakers, transformers, and disconnect switches.
• Use multi-meters for measuring voltage, amperage, resistance, and more.
• Connect branch circuits, feeders, and controls, including terminations, panels, and equipment.
• Diagnose, repair, and resolve problems with circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments, schematics, and diagrams.
• Ensure all work complies with codes and safety regulations.
• Generate complete materials lists for assigned scopes of work.
• Test and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Test circuit continuity for compatibility and safety.
• Maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
• Assist other employees as needed.
• Inspect jobs upon completion for quality, safety, and cleanliness.
• Maintain good working relationships with team.
• Observe safe work practices and follow safety procedures.
• Aid in maintaining a safe work environment.
• Implement safety procedures and precautions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8,000+ verifiable hours worked in the electrical trade.
• Current State Electrical Journeyman license.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical theory, NEC, and local codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
• Advanced knowledge of hand tools, testing equipment, and other commonly used trade equipment.
• Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostics ability.
• Embrace quality control processes.
• Good attention to detail.
• Follow process and procedure.
• Current OSHA 10 certification.

Qualifications

• Formal trade school or apprentice program completion.
• Current Elevated Work Platform certification.
• Current Lock Out/Tag Out Training certification.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Current NFPA 70E Arc Flash Training certification.

• Total compensation between $42.00 - $55.00 per hour based on state electrical license(s), experience, and supervision, etc.

Requirements (Physical)

• Using many physical attributes, including sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Regularly working from elevated spaces for extended periods, including ladders, man lifts, scaffolding, or reach booms.
• Climbing ladders with 30 pounds.
• Balancing on normal work surfaces.
• Comfortable in tight spaces (occasionally).
• Reaching, handling, grasping, and pulling cables, wires, tools, and equipment.
• Focusing close up and far away (with or without correction).
• Distinguishing color-coded wires.
• Using peripheral vision and exercising depth perception.
• Flexible, adaptable, and embracing change.
• Good troubleshooting ability.
• Embracing quality control processes.
• Good attention to detail.
• Following process and procedure.
