Maintenance and Repair
The following duties are performed:
- Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Maintain and repair plumbing for gas, water, air and sewer lines.
- Maintain and repair office furniture.
- Operate boiler room in emergency or relief situations.
- Perform occasional carpentry and painting.
Physical Requirements
Ability to use hand tools. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions
Shop environment, outdoor work, and other conditions as required.
Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
- Valid driver’s license.
- Universal certification per EPA requirements for refrigerant recovery and recycle within 180 calendar days of hire or promotion.
Additional Minimum Requirements - Districts
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, and to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to learn street and highway names/numbers within the District.
- Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with tanker (“N”) endorsement within 180 calendar days of hire or promotion.

Drug and Alcohol Testing
Subject to additional drug/alcohol testing according to the provisions of the ARDOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
