Electrical Physical/Wiring Designer 1 - Nuclear Power

About the role

Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Group is growing and currently works on projects such as Advanced Reactor designs, Renewables, and Small Modular Reactors, while supporting existing nuclear clients.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and expand drafting skills in a multi-disciplined team environment
• Create drawings to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions
• Interfacing with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and make design adjustments

Requirements

• Experience performing walkdowns in operating nuclear plants
• Associate's Degree in drafting or equivalent technical design experience
• 8+ years drafting/design experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)

Qualifications

• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
• Ability to multi-task from project to project

Skills

• Experience working in 3D CAD software environments
• Knowledge of EDISON or other cable management software
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
