About the role
Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Group is growing and currently works on projects such as Advanced Reactor designs, Renewables, and Small Modular Reactors, while supporting existing nuclear clients.
Responsibilities
- Utilize and expand drafting skills in a multi-disciplined team environment
- Create drawings to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions
- Interfacing with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and make design adjustments
Requirements
- Experience performing walkdowns in operating nuclear plants
- Associate's Degree in drafting or equivalent technical design experience
- 8+ years drafting/design experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)
Qualifications
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
- Ability to multi-task from project to project
Skills
- Experience working in 3D CAD software environments
- Knowledge of EDISON or other cable management software
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
