Responsibilities

  • Provide project lead on assigned projects and provide technical support to the Outage & Project Management team and other Energy Supply personnel as required.
  • Fill in, as requested, for Lead I&C Engineer in his/her absence.
  • Maintain oversight of ongoing work activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and coordinate daily work activities of contractors, and collaborate with O&PM Construction, plant outage coordinators, station planners, and other contractors.
  • Coordinate Tampa Electric comments to consulting engineers and supplier documents, ensuring appropriate issuance, maintenance, and permanent filing.
  • Support Energy Supply power plants in identifying and resolving operational and maintenance issues.
  • Auxiliary plant staff when necessary to meet day-to-day and outage requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET accredited college program.
  • Eng II: 4+ years of engineering work experience in heavy industry or utility business, focusing on Project Engineering or Plant Maintenance.
  • Eng III: 8+ years of engineering work experience in heavy industry or utility business, focusing on Project Engineering or Plant Maintenance.
  • Preferred: 8 years of experience in utility generating facilities or engineering companies performing work for utility generating facilities.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience supervising cooperative education students and/or contractors.
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge in controls/process engineering work related areas.

Qualifications

  • Pass the Florida Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
  • Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.

Skills

  • Advanced level control/process engineering skills.
  • Experience in heavy industry or utility business, focusing on Project Engineering or Plant Maintenance.
  • Experience in utility generating facilities or engineering companies performing work for utility generating facilities.
  • Experience supervising cooperative education students and/or contractors.
  • Knowledge in controls/process engineering work related areas.

Pay

  • Eng II: $85K - $115K (10% short term company bonus)
  • Eng III: $110K - $155K (10% short term company bonus)

Schedule

  • Tampa, FL with local travel.
