Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Technician

About the role

The ideal candidate will thrive in learning environments that encourage leadership and technical growth. This role operates in a machine shop environment and requires the ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. It involves regular communication with staff and frequent use of hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper documentation is made on training records and signed by appropriate personnel.
• Work with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians to develop a build strategy and address potential assembly issues.
• Use and understand the tools required for assembly, integration, and testing, such as Pull Test machines, Data Loggers, Vacuum Overs, UV Cleaners, Boring Machines, and Crane and Rigging operations.
• Monitor inventory and supplies, ensuring correct usage.
• Communicate process and quality procedures to less experienced team members.
• Communicate with supervisors, managers, and quality regarding issues affecting quality and productivity.
• Aids in the development of bills of material and labor cost estimates for proposals and budgeting.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
• Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED with at least 5 years of aerospace manufacturing experience in electrical/mechanical assembly.
• Knowledge of power tools, hand tools, and assembling structures.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Aptitude to learn and utilize production work orders, documents, drawings, specifications, and written/oral instructions.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Basic high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of aerospace manufacturing experience in electrical/mechanical assembly.
• Experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians.
• Knowledge of tools used for assembly, integration, and testing.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, shop work instructions, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Strong communication and planning/scheduling skills.
