Electrical Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes
  • Analyze production methods, equipment, and materials
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement improvements
  • Day-to-day shop floor support
  • Create and modify manufacturing travelers/routers
  • Select and implement manufacturing equipment
  • Disposition of non-conforming product and equipment
  • Conduct product and process failure analysis and troubleshooting
  • Design and implement fixturing
  • Create, modify, and train operators on manufacturing procedures
  • Manage engineering changes
  • Collaborate with operators for manufacturing process and quality control
  • Perform manufacturing process audits
  • Purchase manufacturing tooling and consumables
  • Reduce scrap through process improvement projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college required
  • At least 4 years of experience preferred in Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or related fields
  • Desired characteristics: strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; strong problem-solving abilities; proven analytical and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Electronic Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Engineering Physics, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology
  • Desired characteristics: strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and leadership skills; strong sense of ownership and accountability; ability to influence others and lead small teams; ability to make decisions relating to products and customers; ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously; effective problem identification and solution skills; proven analytical and organizational ability

Skills

  • Proficient with use of benchtop electronic test equipment
  • Proficient at reading schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Component-level electronic troubleshooting/failure analysis
  • Familiarity or proficiency with nuclear counting equipment (ideal, but not required)
  • Hands-on application and training of electronic test techniques
  • Demonstrated proficiency in engineering design tools and software
  • Complex problem solving; Shainin, and/or Six Sigma knowledge
