Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes
- Analyze production methods, equipment, and materials
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement improvements
- Day-to-day shop floor support
- Create and modify manufacturing travelers/routers
- Select and implement manufacturing equipment
- Disposition of non-conforming product and equipment
- Conduct product and process failure analysis and troubleshooting
- Design and implement fixturing
- Create, modify, and train operators on manufacturing procedures
- Manage engineering changes
- Collaborate with operators for manufacturing process and quality control
- Perform manufacturing process audits
- Purchase manufacturing tooling and consumables
- Reduce scrap through process improvement projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college required
- At least 4 years of experience preferred in Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or related fields
- Desired characteristics: strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; strong problem-solving abilities; proven analytical and organizational skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Electronic Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Engineering Physics, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology
- Desired characteristics: strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and leadership skills; strong sense of ownership and accountability; ability to influence others and lead small teams; ability to make decisions relating to products and customers; ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously; effective problem identification and solution skills; proven analytical and organizational ability
Skills
- Proficient with use of benchtop electronic test equipment
- Proficient at reading schematics and wiring diagrams
- Component-level electronic troubleshooting/failure analysis
- Familiarity or proficiency with nuclear counting equipment (ideal, but not required)
- Hands-on application and training of electronic test techniques
- Demonstrated proficiency in engineering design tools and software
- Complex problem solving; Shainin, and/or Six Sigma knowledge
