Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and instrumentation preventive maintenance on Utility & Water Treatment systems, including UPW, PCW, CHW, CDA, CW, HVAC, exhaust blowers, and related infrastructure.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections, operational checks, and troubleshooting to maintain system uptime and restore functionality when electrical or instrumentation issues occur.
- Operate, interpret, and respond to HMI controls, alarms, system flowpaths, and instrumentation feedback to diagnose system behavior.
- Perform electrical repairs, including replacing, aligning, or rebuilding electrical components, sensors, wiring, breakers, relays, and control devices per specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness of electrical panels, components, and instrumentation areas according to facility standards.
- Assist Utilities and Water Treatment Technicians with equipment monitoring, route checks, and troubleshooting tasks as needed.
- Use standard electrical meters and diagnostic tools to evaluate voltage, continuity, resistance, and instrumentation accuracy.
- Identify system problems proactively, escalate appropriately, and communicate findings clearly within a diverse team.
- Support execution of planned shutdowns, corrective work orders, and emergency repairs.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, I&C diagrams, P&IDs, flow path diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of PMs, repairs, work orders, and equipment performance.
- Aid in developing SOPs, procedures, and LOTO documentation to improve safety and consistency.
- Comply with all applicable safety requirements, including PPE usage, electrical safety practices, and facility EHS procedures.
- Perform other duties and special projects assigned by management.
Requirements
- Associate degree or technical training in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of electrical or instrumentation maintenance experience in a manufacturing, facilities, or industrial environment.
- Strong electrical and instrumentation knowledge base, including troubleshooting, repair, and PM execution.
- Ability to safely use and interpret readings from standard electrical meters (voltage, continuity, resistance, etc.).
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, gauges, and basic piping configurations as they relate to electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Experience operating HMI systems, including understanding controls, alarms, and system behavior.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills with MS Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to pass a basic electrical/mechanical aptitude assessment during the interview process.
- Ability to meet the physical demands associated with electrical maintenance, including climbing, kneeling, and lifting equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing electrical maintenance on utility systems such as chilled water, process cooling water, CDA, HVAC, or industrial pumping systems.
- Background in instrumentation calibration, control system troubleshooting, or industrial automation.
- Experience supporting large-scale Utilities or Facilities operations in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with LOTO program development, E&I documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
