About the role
The MDTA owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities comprised of four bridges, two tunnels, and two turnpikes across the State of Maryland. For over 50 years, the MDTA has provided Maryland's citizens and visitors with safe, secure, and convenient transportation facilities. The incumbent works in the Office of Engineering and Construction under the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)/Electrical discipline, managing, planning, and designing ITS and electrical work associated with transportation facilities, structures, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage electrical studies.
- Serve as project manager for large capital projects in ITS and Electrical Engineering.
- Coordinate and review design of study reports and design drawings.
- Review construction documents such as as-built plans, Request for Information (RFI), and submittals.
- Review Scope of Work (SOW) of ITS/Electrical on-call tasks.
- Work with utility companies for power, energy, and communication requirements of projects.
- Coordinate with ITS/Electrical engineers and other MDTA stakeholders on tasks and projects; attend project-related meetings.
- Prepare engineering cost estimates and man-hour estimates for ITS/Electrical tasks.
- Conduct field visits to facility locations with consultants/contractors as needed for various projects.
Requirements
- 5 - 10 years of relevant experience.
- 4 Year Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Pay
$76,608.00 - $120,814.00 per year.
