Electrical & Instrumentation Technician - Entry

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration and documentation of: Flow Measurement, Level Measurement, Pressure, Temperature, Analytical Instrumentation
• Work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment
• Test, calibrate, and repair pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, indicating, and control instruments / equipment
• Have working knowledge of pH, flow, temperature, pressure, conductivity, and mass measurements, AC and DC control methods, 24V – 480V electrical systems and troubleshooting, VFD’s, burner controls, smart meters, PLC/DCS control methods, automated systems, load cells, control valves, blueprint reading, mathematics, and preventive/predictive maintenance
• Use hand tools on a daily basis such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, and drill press)
• Operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and bobcats
• Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures
• Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning
• Maintain positive customer and employee relations

Requirements

• Possess a high school degree or an approved GED
• AA degree in Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics, or Industrial Electricity preferred, but not required
• Ability to obtain Journeyman’s Electrical License upon state required qualifications being met
• Five years experience in industrial instrumentation and electrical maintenance preferred

• The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
• Control Precision — The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
• Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
• Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required
• Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time
• Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools
• Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment
• Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner
• Wear a respirator while performing job duties
• Communications/Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
• Information Ordering — The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations)

Skills

• Working knowledge of pH, flow, temperature, pressure, conductivity and mass measurements
• Working knowledge of AC and DC control methods
• Working knowledge of 24V – 480V electrical systems and troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of VFD’s, burner controls, smart meters, PLC/DCS control methods
• Working knowledge of automated systems, load cells, control valves, blueprint reading, mathematics, and preventive/predictive maintenance

$24.23 - $28.50 per hour
