Job Scope

Generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and generate Work Order plans involving multiple steps specializing in electrical equipment installation and maintenance
  • Develop replacement scope of works for electrical equipment retrofit
  • Develop replacement in kind for obsolete instruments and be able to develop the wiring runs and meet all electrical specs for the site
  • Create budgetary estimate for instrument replacement, wiring runs
  • Develop Steps, schedule, and quality requirements for electrical scope
  • Fluency with cost reduction efforts and able to challenge the costs from vendors to develop most cost-effective options of repair
  • Optional but Preferred items: PLC knowledge and be able to generate scope of work for PLC upgrades, high voltage or substation repair scope experience, One Line Knowledge and experience

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
  • Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.
  • Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.

  • Coaching and mentoring skills and experience.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables.
  • Experienced in scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work.
  • Able to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
