What You'll Do
- Coverage of inspections before, during, and after construction.
- Ensuring compliance with safety, structural, and building code regulations.
- Issuing violation notices, stop-work orders, and permits for construction.
- Documenting inspection results.
- Communicating findings to homeowners and contractors.
- Coordinating with and assisting other field inspectors.
- Pick-up extra inspections as needed.
- Clarifying code-related problems with contractor field personnel.
- Consistently communicating and upholding standards.
- Conducting building damage assessment inspections.
- Engaging in continued education.
- Providing training and mentoring to current inspectors.
- Assisting in the selection and training of new staff.
- Maintaining awareness of new developments in the field of inspections.
- Applying new developments to programs.
- Performing ride-along with field inspectors for ongoing supervision and feedback.
- Handling customer service issues for walk-ins.
- Serving as a resource for inspectors in the field.
- Interpreting and applying Building, Electrical, Elevator, Mechanical, and Plumbing standards and regulations.
What We're Looking For
- A Maryland electrical inspector license from the State Fire Marshal's Office.
- Experience with commercial and residential construction.
- Experience with Data Centers and/or large commercial projects.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Municipal/Jurisdiction Experience.
