Responsibilities
- Report to the Project Safety Coordinator, and/or Branch Office Safety Coordinator
- Conduct New Hire Orientation and/or Site-Specific Orientation (i.e., MMR Orientation, Site Safety Plan, Emergency Action Plan, Fall Protection, HAZCOM, and PPE)
- Accompany injured/ill employees to Medical Facilities to ensure proper treatment and Case Management if directed to do so and under guidance from the Project Safety Coordinator
- Perform field inspections and audits (i.e., JSEA’s, Equipment Inspections, Ground Assurance, safety equipment, fire extinguishers, ladders, field observations)
- Actively participate in MMR’s Behavioral Based Safety Program by performing observations and providing feedback as needed
- Enter BBS Observation details from cards into BBS Observation Database
- Absorb and upload site training in the MMR electronic database (M-Files) for proper record retention
- Absorb and assist in entering on-site coaching and follow-ups to ensure the training was understood by our employees
- Absorb and ensure that safety procedures are being followed by all employees including enforcement of MMR “Life Critical Policies”
- Absorb and correct all unsafe acts or conditions
- Absorb and participate in daily JSEA and Daily Toolbox meetings
- Absorb and work with Supervisors to ensure Safe Work Practices are being followed
- Absorb and stay up to date and current on MMR HS&E Policies & Procedures and applicable regulatory (i.e. OSHA, MSHA, DOT, NFPA) requirements
- Absorb and assist in accident investigations with the Project Safety Coordinator, and/or the Site Manager. Implement corrective actions as directed by the Project Safety Coordinator
- Absorb and inspect tools and safety equipment including arc flash and shock protection before use
- Absorb and perform monthly inspections of Site Office, Tool and Calibration Trailers, including tools, appliances, equipment and safety gear
- Absorb and perform other duties to include additional HS&E related support not listed as requested by the Project Safety Coordinator and Site Management
- Absorb and attend required and refresher training related to company, vendor, and regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Must comply with all safety and company rules and regulations
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Required: OSHA 30
- Required: 3-5 years of experience as an HSE technician in Electrical
- Plus: OSHA 10
- Plus: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST)
- Plus: NFPA 70E knowledge
- Plus: STSC or HIGHER certifications
Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, NFPA regulations
- Ability to perform safety inspections and audits

- Ability to perform incident investigations
