Job Duties
- Aid in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment and fixtures used in the petroleum industry.
- Install conduits, pull wire, and make final connections to circuit breakers, petroleum pumps, dispensers, Point of Sale consoles, tank monitors, and petroleum lighting.
- Inspect electrical systems and components to ensure compliance with safety requirements, codes, project specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
- Verify the proper operation of the electrical system.
- Advise management, customers, and employees about potential hazards and when electrical systems are safe to operate.
- Assist estimators with material take-offs, material costs, and labor allowances.
Experience, Competencies And Education
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 to 3 years working as an apprentice with an electrical company, without a journeyman card.
- Knowledge of electrician standards and codes required.
- Detail-oriented.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to lift 75 – 100 lbs when necessary during the course of performing duties.
- Work outside in all types of weather.
- Work under time constraints efficiently and have the ability to work well with others.
- Follow all company procedures.
