Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a Mechanical, Electrical, or other related discipline with a STEM focus and fundamental principles.
  • Electrical design work experience (harnesses, cables, electronic boxes, electrical systems).
  • Fluency in ECAD applications and modeling (ZukenE3, etc.) tools.
  • Product/system design experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Job Description

This position is for a mid-career Electrical Engineer that collaborates well in a team environment, has excellent communication skills, and proactively takes initiative. We are a community of engineers looking for a dependable mid-career engineer to join our tight-knit group. In this role you will have the opportunity to support many of the Programs that LM Space supports, where partnership, integrity, and reliability are prioritized.

The Harness and Cable Design group is an organization that is responsible for mechanical and electrical design tasks relating to wire harness, cable design, and interconnecting of electronic equipment. Our organization primarily supports satellite spacecraft design, however there is opportunity to support many of LM Space's missions.

Location

This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Littleton CO and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What Does This Role Look Like?

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a flexible and dynamic team environment while gaining direct product knowledge from experienced engineers. Additionally, you will have numerous opportunities to help represent the Harness and Cable team, with many opportunities for career development along the way.

Key Activities

  • Work closely alongside experienced engineers to help meet safety, schedule, and cost.
  • Technical development and coordination of harness and cable wire connection lists, engineering change support, and/or schematic capture of wiring diagrams.
  • Aid in investigating design factors such as part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, weight, and cost.
  • Additional responsibilities may include: voltage drop analysis, documentation release, testing requirement definition, Interface Control Drawing (ICD) interpretation, detailed Component Performance Specification interpretation, conceptual designs, and trade studies.

To Be Effective In This Role, You Will Need

  • Strong collaboration skills will be key to your success as you work alongside experienced engineers in partnership with other disciplines, such as Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering.
  • 3+ years of professional experience.
  • While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.
