Electrical Facilities Design Lead
About the Role
As the Electrical Facilities Design Lead, you and your team will be responsible for guiding multiple electrical facilities subsystems and their components from concept to final installation in a program that introduces new, innovative capabilities into an existing mission-critical facility infrastructure. Your technical expertise will drive the team through architecture and requirements discussions, electrical systems component selection and design — including power distribution, grounding, load calculations, arc flash analysis, and facility-wide electrical integration — testing (design verification and qualification), and integration, all while adhering to schedule and budget constraints. Your ability to effectively communicate with other disciplines and program management will facilitate an iterative, risk-based approach to developing a technical solution in a secure defense environment.
Responsibilities
- Guide multiple electrical facilities subsystems and their components from concept to final installation
- Lead architecture and requirements discussions for electrical systems
- Perform electrical systems component selection and design, including power distribution, grounding, load calculations, arc flash analysis, and facility-wide electrical integration
- Oversee testing (design verification and qualification) and integration activities
- Collaborate with other disciplines and program management to develop technical solutions
- Adhere to schedule and budget constraints throughout project lifecycle
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire
- Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and undergo U.S. Government security investigation
- U.S. citizenship is required

- Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA standards, and facility electrical safety requirements
- Experience with UPS systems, emergency power, switchgear, and PDU design and integration
- Experience with R&D environments or emerging facility technologies is a plus

Pay
USD $124,397.00/Yr. - USD $138,003.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
