Electrical Estimator

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and complete electrical estimates for commercial and public works projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and project specifications.
• Develop detailed bids using industry-standard estimating software.
• Review plans and specifications to identify scope gaps, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Coverage pricing with subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers.
• Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals while tracking bid outcomes.
• Price and manage change orders for active construction projects.
• Support project managers with cost tracking, vendor coordination, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project operations.
• Maintain organized estimating files and documentation while meeting project deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably on commercial construction projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience preparing complete project estimates independently.
• Hands-on experience pricing and managing change orders.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience estimating public works or prevailing wage projects.
• Previous electrical field experience is a plus.
• Experience supporting project managers or overseeing small construction projects.
• Familiarity with commercial construction bidding processes and general contractor coordination.
