Electrical Estimator

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and government projects using Accubid software.
• Government Bid Support: Assist in the estimation process for federal, state, and municipal government projects, ensuring adherence to public works bidding requirements and prevailing wage stipulations.
• Blueprint & Spec Analysis: Review and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to accurately determine project scope and material/labor requirements.
• Takeoffs: Perform thorough electrical takeoffs, evaluating underground and structural electrical needs, service and repair parameters, and infrastructure requirements.
• Vendor & Supplier Negotiation: Solicit pricing from vendors, suppliers, and specialty contractors to secure competitive materials and equipment costs.
• Project Hand-off: Collaborate with the management team and field superintendents to help transition awarded projects from the estimating phase to construction.
• Site Visits: Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site walk-throughs to assess existing conditions and gather necessary data for accurate bidding.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5 years of professional electrical estimating experience within the commercial, industrial, and public works sectors.
• Government Expertise (Mandatory): Experience estimating and working on government/public works projects (federal, state, municipal, or airfield).
• Understanding of government bidding procedures, compliance, and public works protocols.
• Software Proficiency (Mandatory): Proficient in Accubid estimating software.
• Electrical Background: Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, National Electrical Code (NEC), and construction materials/methods.
• Previous field experience as an electrician is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and suppliers.

Pay

Base Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
