We successfully manage a wide portfolio of high-profile projects, including complex federal government and airfield contracts, utility construction, and renewable energy initiatives valued up to and in excess of $5M.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and government projects using Accubid software.
- Government Bid Support: Assist in the estimation process for federal, state, and municipal government projects, ensuring adherence to public works bidding requirements and prevailing wage stipulations.
- Blueprint & Spec Analysis: Review and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to accurately determine project scope and material/labor requirements.
- Takeoffs: Perform thorough electrical takeoffs, evaluating underground and structural electrical needs, service and repair parameters, and infrastructure requirements.
- Vendor & Supplier Negotiation: Solicit pricing from vendors, suppliers, and specialty contractors to secure competitive materials and equipment costs.
- Project Hand-off: Collaborate with the management team and field superintendents to help transition awarded projects from the estimating phase to construction.
- Site Visits: Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site walk-throughs to assess existing conditions and gather necessary data for accurate bidding.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years of professional electrical estimating experience within the commercial, industrial, and public works sectors.
- Government Expertise (Mandatory): Experience estimating and working on government/public works projects (federal, state, municipal, or airfield).
- Understanding of government bidding procedures, compliance, and public works protocols.
- Software Proficiency (Mandatory): Proficient in Accubid estimating software.
- Electrical Background: Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, National Electrical Code (NEC), and construction materials/methods.
- Previous field experience as an electrician is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and suppliers.
Pay
Base Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
