Electrical Estimator

About the role

Kolb Electric, Inc. is seeking a qualified and experienced Estimator for Design Build Service Level Projects to join our team in Northern Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a background as a lead electrician or in field electrical work. In this role, you will visit residential, commercial, and property management customers to provide solution-driven contract pricing. You will evaluate customer needs, formulate the required scope of work, detail material lists, and estimate labor hours for service-level projects. Strong customer communication, vendor relationships, and staff leadership are essential.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer needs and formulate the required scope of work for electrical projects.
• Detail material lists and estimate labor hours for service-level projects.
• Visit residential, commercial, and property management customers to provide contract pricing.
• Maintain strong customer communication and vendor relationships.
• Lead and interact cooperatively with fellow employees.
• Read and interpret prints or schematics.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and ensure work is completed safely and conscientiously.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records.
• Work with purchase orders and interact with vendors.
• Ensure compliance with NEC regulations and basic code-compliant wiring.
• Handle circuits, lighting, site & LED lighting, and low-voltage systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of Lead Electrician or Estimator experience.
• Professional electrical license preferred (assistance provided for acquisition).
• Background and drug screen required.
• Positive attitude and professional appearance.
• Experience working with schematics and electrical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with low-voltage systems and NEC regulations.
• Competency in basic code-compliant wiring, circuits, and lighting.
• Ability to read prints or schematics.
• Strong leadership and cooperative interaction with team members.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance and vehicle.
