Electrical Estimator

Cummings Electrical is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator for its Dallas‑Fort Worth location. Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate project plans, specifications, bid documents, and other relevant materials to identify requirements for creating a bid proposal.
• Calculate the cost of electrical construction based on a review and evaluation of available documents.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel from other departments to discuss and formulate estimates, and resolve issues.
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Prepare estimates for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
• Attend job‑site walk‑throughs with other estimators as necessary to ensure proper handling of field conditions that may impact construction, bids, or pre‑construction designs.
• Request quotes for materials and equipment from vendors and equipment suppliers.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
• Prepare bid documents, including specific scope letters for each project, evaluations with adjustments for buy‑outs, labor rates, productivity, etc., and identify any inconsistencies, conflicts, or other issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 + years of relevant experience on commercial and/or industrial projects.
• Experience estimating projects valued at $3 million and above.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes.
• Proficiency with industry‑leading estimating software.
