Build the bids behind major public projects and join an electrical contractor where experienced estimators are trusted to own their work.

About the role

We are seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Electrical Estimator to manage estimates from plan review and quantity takeoffs through final bid submission for public-sector electrical construction projects ranging from approximately $500K to $25M. This role will work closely with leadership to analyze labor, materials, equipment, and prevailing wage costs while developing competitive, complete bids for schools, municipal buildings, public housing, police and fire stations, and other government-funded facilities. The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient electrical estimator who knows how to take ownership of a complete bid, understands the details that drive accurate pricing, and brings the judgment, accountability, and attention to detail required in a competitive low-bid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review electrical plans, specifications, bid documents and project requirements to develop accurate and competitive estimates
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam, McCormick and other estimating resources
  • Prepare complete bid packages by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, prevailing wage requirements and other project costs
  • Own estimates from initial takeoff through final bid submission while managing multiple bids within typical two-to-three-week bid cycles
  • Partner with company leadership on bid strategy, pricing, and overall project approach
  • Estimate public works electrical projects ranging from approximately $500K to $25M across schools, municipal facilities, public housing, police and fire stations, and other government-funded projects
  • Attend occasional mandatory site walkthroughs and pre-bid inspections as required

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of electrical estimating experience with 10+ years strongly preferred for senior-level candidates
  • Strong electrical construction knowledge with a thorough understanding of labor units, material pricing, construction methods, and estimating fundamentals
  • Proven ability to independently prepare complete electrical estimates and bid packages with minimal supervision
  • Experience with public works, municipal, government, or prevailing wage projects strongly preferred
  • Experience with McCormick, Accubid, ConEst or comparable estimating software with the ability to learn McCormick quickly
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam for plan review, quantity takeoffs, and counting
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, professional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with a team while independently owning projects

Benefits

  • 100% employer-paid medical coverage for employees and their dependents, including family coverage, beginning on the first day of employment
  • Medical coverage provided through Mass General Brigham
  • 2 weeks of PTO to start + 6 sick days annually
  • Employer-sponsored retirement plan
  • Annual discretionary bonus opportunity of approximately 5%–10% based on individual and company performance

Pay

$145,000–$205,000 / year, DOE + bonus opportunity
