Electrical Estimator

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates based on project plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals for projects, ensuring all necessary documentation and compliance with client requirements.
• Cook up and present cost estimates to project stakeholders.
• Cook off with various departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs, assumptions, and justifications for estimates provided.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and job site visits as required.
• Complete take-offs for bid preparation utilizing estimating software.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must complete a mandatory field stint of up to 6 months under the supervision of the Estimating Manager to gain a comprehensive understanding of Bi-Con's methods and practices.
• A 4-year degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience is required.
• 2+ years of electrical estimating, engineering, or similar experience is preferred.
• Battery, fiber, and/or automation and controls experience is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and interpersonal.
