Electrical Estimator

About the role
As a Mission Critical Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in pursuing and executing complex electrical construction projects such as hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial and manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and large commercial developments. You’ll collaborate with operations, preconstruction, project management, vendors, subcontractors, and executive leadership to develop accurate, competitive, and strategic estimates that drive project success.
Responsibilities
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Perform detailed takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates
- Develop budgets, proposals, bid packages, and scope reviews
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, engineers, and operations teams
- Participate in preconstruction planning and value engineering efforts
- Assist with project turnover and support awarded projects
- Identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving strategies
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners
- Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems
Qualifications
- 4+ years of electrical estimating experience
- Experience in mission-critical/data centers, industrial construction, large commercial construction, design-build projects, or fast-track construction environments
- Proficiency with Accubid or similar estimating software, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel
- Strong blueprint and specification interpretation skills
- Solid understanding of NEC and electrical systems
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strategic and analytical thinking
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with a solutions-oriented mindset
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Post-secondary education or industry certifications (preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
