About Fluidstack We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it. We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI. We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply! How We Operate Extreme ownership. Full autonomy. Own things end to end often taking on scope outside your core role without being asked to get things done.Velocity. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.First principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward. The Product Engineering, Electrical Equipment Team You'll define the electrical equipment that powers the largest AI compute buildout in history. Examples Of Key Problems The Team Is Working On Design an LV/MV switchgear, BBU, and busway lineup purpose-built for AI data centers instead of adapting legacy utility gear.Get first-of-a-kind gear through NRTL certification on schedules where a failed test shot costs months, not weeks.Decide product by product what we design in-house, what we co-develop with OEMs, and what we simply buy.Converge the lineup on the minimum set of frame sizes and bus ratings that covers the overwhelming majority of site demand. Role Scope Own product architecture across the LV/MV switchgear, BBU, and busway lineup, including the frame-size and bus-rating matrix that covers 90% of demand with the fewest SKUs.Run the certification strategy end to end: NRTL relationships, test campaign sequencing, lab bookings, and budgets that account for the real cost of a failed shot.Lead the gear design team across EE, ME, controls, and drafting, with team structure and staffing decisions that hold up as the lineup grows.Set the ratings philosophy for the lineup: short-circuit, withstand, and temperature-rise design standards rigorous enough to pass witness testing on the first campaign.Make the make-vs-buy recommendation per product category, including the call that we shouldn't build a category at all, backed by cost, schedule, and certification-risk math. What We're Looking For The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would. 12+ years in switchgear and electrical equipment design, with time leading design teams at an OEM such as Powell, IEM, Eaton, ABB, or equivalent. You've personally taken gear through UL 891/1558 or IEC 61439 listing, including witness testing at KEMA or PowerTech-class labs. You've lived through a short-circuit test failure, driven it to root cause, and led the redesign that passed the retest. You've owned product architecture across an LV/MV lineup, including BBU integration and the certification path each integration option implies. You know how to structure a 9-person gear team: which seats can double up, which can't, and where the first hire goes when the lineup expands. You can defend a ratings philosophy, short-circuit, withstand, and temperature-rise, against both a test lab and a cost target.Bonus: BBU or energy storage integration into gear, busway product experience, arc-resistant designs, or deep NRTL relationships. We are committed to pay equity and transparency. Fluidstack is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
