About the Role

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Graduate in Jacksonville, FL to support the design, analysis, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings. This entry-level role provides hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience with mentorship, training, and growth opportunities from day one. You will contribute to healthcare and MEP work, supporting high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, communicate technical information effectively, and help build and maintain client relationships.
• Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team, including assisting with project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Assist with documenting design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions in collaboration with senior engineers and consultants.
• Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work by identifying and mitigating potential safety risks associated with electrical systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Skills

• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
• Strong technical and analytical skills, including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings.
• Knowledge of industry-standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software (e.g., AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting), energy compliance software (e.g., ComCheck), and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written formats to individuals or groups.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Basic knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) License.

Pay

State of Florida Salary Range: $75,000 - $78,000 per year. The range represents base pay IMEG reasonably expects to pay for this position in Jacksonville, FL. Individual compensation is determined based on job-related factors, including experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
