Responsibilities

  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to design, correct, and update engineering systems.
  • Assist lead engineers with various project duties across market segments.
  • Support the Transmission & Distribution group in planning and designing electrical transmission projects, including overhead and underground transmission, distribution systems, substation design, telecommunications, pipelines, renewable power integration, security, and grid modernization.
  • Perform filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, and PowerPoint presentation preparation.
  • Respond to general inquiries and provide information.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Present solutions to project concerns and research recommended solutions.
  • Assist with ad‑hoc projects as assigned by managers.
  • Comply with all company policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited program (ABET accreditation strongly preferred).
  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in a post‑secondary education or technical certificate program.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (strongly preferred).
  • Prior internship or related consulting experience (preferred).
  • Active involvement in campus, community, or volunteer organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self‑motivated, eager learner with aptitude to grow within the field.
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this internship ranges from $19.50 to $37.00, based on factors such as education, qualifications, prior experience, and work location.
