Electrical Engineering Intern, Space Systems (Summer 2027)

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze analog/digital power electronics including conversion, distribution, and control circuits and devices.
  • Write procedures, test reports, and other technical documents.
  • Product specification review and compliance analysis.
  • Create training documents with verification tests.
  • Participate in selected Design Reviews to help present design parameters.
  • Perform basic trigonometry and solid geometry calculations, when needed.
  • Design electronic circuits or circuit card assemblies.
  • Analyze circuit card designs under flight conditions.
  • Hands-on support of development hardware testing.
  • Aid in release of drawings for development hardware.
  • Support the operations team in improvements to low-rate and mature product lines.
  • Work with other engineers in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in Aerospace design.
  • CAD skills desired.
  • Excellent grades, especially in core engineering courses.
  • Must work precisely, accurately, and with close attention to all details.
  • High level of system aptitude and knowledge.
  • Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with hardware engineering tools (e.g. schematic capture, Gerber design viewers).
  • Working knowledge of circuit and logic analysis, controls, and finite element analysis packages.
  • Basic proficiency in operation of electronics lab bench test equipment.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or graduate program by the start of employment.
  • Education: High school thru post undergraduate degree students are encouraged to apply – Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
  • The Engineering Intern may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $18 - $24/hr
