Electrical Engineering Intern

Looking for a great opportunity to gain experience with a global sustainable energy company? Our Danfoss Power Solutions site in Plymouth is seeking a part-time (~20 hours per week) Electrical Engineering Intern for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an onsite position that pays $20-$25 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced engineering skills regarding electrical design, analysis, and problem-solving.
• Conduct product functional testing and product analysis as needed.
• Perform qualification testing of the finished product—including EMC, ESD, electrical transient, and HALT testing.
• Create engineering documentation.
• Perform schematic design using engineering principles and advanced math concepts when opportunities arise.
• Create PCB layouts with a complete understanding of the impact of traces, vias, planes, layers, and component placement.

No business travel is anticipated.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering Program, with Junior status or higher.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of the following equipment: digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, PC data acquisition hardware, inspection equipment, signal generators, power supplies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Motivated self-starter who is willing to tackle all aspects of electrical engineering.
