About the role

nLogic is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support anticipated work in the Fort Eustis, VA area. This role is aligned with upcoming proposal efforts and will play a key part conducting electrical analysis (EA) and testing support services for multiple Army aircraft and their associated mission equipment. In this role, you will contribute to mission-critical efforts by applying your expertise in electrical engineering while working alongside government and industry partners in a collaborative environment. This is an opportunity to be considered early for a high-impact effort supporting critical defense missions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems engineering and analysis support in the definition of technical performance measures used in test and evaluation, and for post-test data collection and analysis (e.g., subsystem or system level simulation evaluation, human-in-the-loop evaluation or field testing of multiple aircraft types, or representative avionics, mission computers, sensors, or weapons systems).
  • Assist in the development of modeling and simulation system environments, system architectures, and system verification plans for various R&D activities of the TDD-SID.
  • Generate substantiation documentation, designs, and drawings to support integration of candidate solutions onto U.S. Army aviation platforms, in accordance with identified airworthiness requirements for particular aircraft platforms.
  • Provide electrical testing including Electromagnetic Compatibility/Electromagnetic Interference (EMC/EMI) support.
  • Perform electrical analysis of new systems, instrumentation, and organic airframes and their subsystems.
  • Develop multiple EA reports and flight test instrumentation plans for multiple aircraft projects, producing EA reports suitable for airworthiness approval.
  • Develop and execute laboratory/bench test and testing.
  • Evaluate electrical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs applying knowledge of electricity and materials; confirm system and product specifications by designing feasibility and testing methods and testing properties.
  • Ensure system and product quality by evaluating testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Perform engineering design evaluations and analyze R&D plans; conduct research for system-related information as directed.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and briefings; identify potential risks and appropriate courses of action should technical issues arise or user requirements change.
  • Travel up to 25% in support of mission requirements for site surveys, technical interchange meetings, training, testing support, and other critical tasks outside of the JBLE facilities, including assisting with equipment packing and movement as per mission requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, in-scope Secret security clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an ABET-accredited program including differential and integral calculus, electrical fields and circuits, and comparable engineering science or physics, plus 2+ years generating test plans, analysis, and reports specific to electrical, electronics, and/or avionics systems and 2+ years using CAD software (e.g., PTC Creo, AutoCAD), with experience reading and interpreting schematics, harness drawings, and wiring diagrams; ability to present findings at technical interchange meetings and senior-level briefings.
  • OR a Master’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an ABET-accredited program including differential and integral calculus, electrical fields and circuits, and comparable engineering science or physics, plus 1+ year generating test plans, analysis, and reports specific to electrical, electronics, and/or avionics systems in a DoD R&D environment and 1+ year using CAD software (e.g., PTC Creo, AutoCAD), with experience reading and interpreting schematics, harness drawings, and wiring diagrams; ability to present findings at technical interchange meetings and senior-level briefings.
