About the role

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and testing electronic circuits used in our existing and new RFID products. They will also be responsible for developing products from concept phase to production release, and proactively investigating, learning, and implementing artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to innovate engineering processes and drive significant gains in efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes requirements for moderately complex Electrical design projects.
  • Completes all phases of moderately complex Electrical design projects including system design, Power Supply analysis, circuit design, thermal analysis, simulation, schematic, layout, and Electrical circuit validation.
  • Proactively research, evaluate, and implement emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to continuously improve EE design, testing, and system optimization processes.
  • Performs EE analysis and simulation for design, optimization, and debug.
  • Generates schematics using Cadence Allegro schematic capture and supports PCB layout.
  • Drives and/or supports customer and cross-functional issue debug for system level issues.
  • Drives EMI/EMC trouble shooting and validation at product level.
  • Works with internal cross-functional teams and external JDMs/CMs to successfully bring Handheld products to market.
  • Drives EE lab capability development and works with Lab team on test strategy and new technology capability.
  • Works cross-functionally with RF, Antenna, Mechanical engineering, SW engineering, and System Test on system design, test plan development, and issue debug.
  • Applies existing technology in new ways to improve performance and productivity.
  • Reviews changes or upgrades to existing applications.
  • Develops new tools and processes to aid in the analysis and solving of problems as well as efficiency improvement.
  • Prioritizes quality and seeks out improvements in all aspects of EE projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years of experience, or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience in Analog and Digital circuit design, memory design, and signal integrity.
  • Experience with generating schematics using Cadence Allegro (or similar software) schematic capture and supports PCB layout.
  • Experience working with internal cross-functional teams and external JDMs/CMs to successfully bring RFID products to market.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with embedded microprocessors/Microcontrollers such as ST Micro STM32H750 type devices and associated SDRAM and Flash Memory.
  • WIFI, Bluetooth, RF experience.
  • Experience with PSPICE and familiar with FPGA and using C, VHDL/Verilog.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn basic RF, Compliance requirements, and mitigation of EMI, ESD, immunity issues.
  • Knowledgeable about USB, Ethernet, serial interfaces, audio, and video interfaces.

Pay

$96,800.00 - $145,200.00 Annual Incentive Compensation In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
