About the role
Shermco Industries is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide engineering design, analysis, and studies for domestic and international projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies.
- Perform power factor analysis and correction, harmonic modeling and analysis, and grounding analysis.
- Occasionally interact with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans.
- Occasionally work in the field under the direction of the Field Services team on shutdown, startup, and maintenance projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience; preference for educational focus in Power Systems studies.
- Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, and power quality studies (preferred).
- Must have experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EZPower, or other power system modeling software.
- Must have knowledge of low, medium, and high-voltage systems up to 500 kV.
- Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods and be comfortable interacting directly with customers and co-workers.
- Field experience with substations or switchgear highly desirable.
- Utility design experience a plus.
- Availability for occasional domestic and international travel a plus.
Pay
USD $85,000.00 – USD $120,000.00 per year.
