What You Will Do

Serve as a technical expert within the Power Electronics Department responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining power electronics products and systems for Johnson Controls' chiller applications. Determine the best techniques, procedures, and theories as they apply to the development of power electronics products and systems. Create compliance procedures for the development of electrical/electronic circuitry designs. Define and interpret design specifications; design electrical/electronic circuitry to meet specified requirements; and analyze product design requirements and recommend solutions. Prepare and coordinate the release of documentation to support component design and manufacturing. Participate in all aspects of preliminary design and systems architecture, and conduct analysis of the cost impacts of proposed modifications, upgrades, and new implementations of application software. Conduct feasibility studies and systems analysis for new applications or major modifications of existing systems. Work with other engineers, designers, and technicians on specific work assignments. Forecast and schedule work activities, and define processes for repetitive tasks. Act as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues on the range of power electronics products and systems on Johnson Controls' chillers.

How You Will Do It

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization within Power Electronics
  • 4+ years of industry experience in the field of power electronics or electrical engineering (preferred)
  • Experience with electrical systems
  • Prior experience with power electronics controls
  • Prior experience with IGBT based inverters
  • Prior experience with advanced tools such as Matlab/Simulink, OPAL-RT, Saber
