About the role
Clark Dietz is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to work in our Central Indiana MEP Team based in Indianapolis. This position will lead the design of electrical systems for architectural and civil infrastructure projects. Projects include the design of power distribution, lighting, and low voltage electrical systems (fire protection & security) for public facilities including offices, police & fire stations, and water & wastewater treatment plants.
Responsibilities
- Conducts site visits as needed to verify conditions of existing equipment in the field and prepares technical reports as needed.
- Performs electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, and power system analysis using applicable codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IBC) for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
- Leads and coordinates design deliverables with other disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical, and civil) for multi-discipline projects.
- Prepares or assists with detailed electrical design drawings and calculations for the electrical phase of MEP projects.
- Responds to RFIs and coordinates with contractors and owners to meet project objectives.
- Performs QA/QC for assigned projects following the company’s standards.
- Collaborates on project pursuits with MEP and BD staff and supports the growth and development of less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (E.E. emphasis)
- 8+ years of relevant experience and an Indiana PE license is required
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design is required; experience with SKM, ETAP, and AGI-32 is desired
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to maintain detailed daily logs and prepare project reports and submittals
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to local project sites

Pay
Starting salary range: $94,000 - $118,560 + hiring bonus + annual performance bonus.
