About the role
The Electrical Engineer / Project Engineer will provide engineering and technical support to manufacturing operations, support plant reliability and performance improvement initiatives, coordinate training and startup activities for new equipment and processes, and manage capital projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and technical assistance to manufacturing operations, maintenance systems, and production processes
- Support plant reliability and performance improvement initiatives
- Investigate manufacturing and equipment issues and implement corrective actions
- Consult with production personnel to analyze operational data and improve process effectiveness
- Educate plant personnel on engineering and technical concepts to improve operational understanding
- Coordinate training and startup activities for new equipment and processes
- Apply Precision Maintenance principles and best practices
- Manage plant capital budgets and support capital planning activities
- Develop preliminary concepts and budgetary estimates for new projects and process improvements
- Support vendor bid development, vendor selection, and purchased services coordination
- Execute capital projects while ensuring cost, schedule, and performance objectives are achieved
- Provide project updates and communicate project status/issues to stakeholders
- Identify and execute process improvement and cost reduction initiatives
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen activities focused on waste reduction and operational efficiency
- Support root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives
- Integrate continuous improvement methodologies into manufacturing operations
- Support standards development and reliability improvement efforts
- Work closely with engineering, maintenance, operations, and production teams
- Collaborate with staff engineers and plant personnel to improve operational performance
- Support communication and alignment across departments during project execution and process improvements
Requirements
- Strong engineering and technical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage multiple capital projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze manufacturing and process data to drive improvements
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to drive process improvement and cost reduction initiatives
- Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, equipment reliability, and maintenance practices
- Ability to support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with Wonderware application programming and support
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing capital projects from concept through execution
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies
- Experience with process improvement and reliability initiatives
- Strong background in maintenance systems and manufacturing equipment support
- Experience supporting equipment startups and commissioning activities
- Strong vendor management and contractor coordination experience
- Experience with root cause analysis and operational troubleshooting

Pay
The estimated base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000 per year. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors.
Schedule
The role is full-time with travel expected to be less than 10%.
