About the role

The Electrical Engineering Team at Zipline is responsible for designing, building, and testing all the electronics and software that powers the company's drone delivery systems. This includes custom circuit board design, EOL tester development, sensor integration, real-time flight control, and communication systems. The team collaborates with mechanical, test, embedded, software, and systems engineering teams to create scalable, high-performance products that ensure safe and effective operation in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and test custom circuit boards
  • Develop and deploy test equipment for design validation and production
  • Support design validation campaigns to ensure product reliability
  • Conduct root cause investigations for product issues
  • Work on projects aligned with personal and team goals

Requirements

  • Completed at least second year of undergraduate studies
  • Masters and PhD students are also eligible
  • Experience designing and testing custom circuit boards
  • Experience with projects involving moving objects (e.g., planes, cars, boats)
  • Collaborative experience in groups (school clubs, competitions, jobs/internships, friends)

Qualifications

  • Must have at least completed the second year of your Undergraduate studies
  • Masters and PhD students are also eligible
  • You've designed and tested a custom circuit board (it doesn't need to have worked - we'd love to hear about it!)
  • You've worked on a project in or out of school that moved under its own power
  • You've collaborated on the above two things as part of a group
  • Bonus qualifications: experience in robotics/automation, software development, cloud computing/big data tools
