Electrical Engineer Intern

Brunswick Boat Group Technology Center (BBGTC) in Edgewater, FL is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support research and development activities. This onsite position requires 10% travel and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Join Brunswick Boat Group Technology Center for a hands-on internship that bridges classroom learning with real-world electrical engineering projects. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to develop innovative, manufacturable marine products that meet industry regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in developing and executing new product ideas, ensuring compliance with industry, government, and internal quality standards.
• Support project schedules to meet product availability and profitability goals.
• Develop electrical components, panels, wiring harnesses, and systems within cost targets.
• Create 2D drawings and 3D models of electrical systems and components.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve technical design issues.
• Perform technical evaluations, testing, and generate reports as needed.
• Provide troubleshooting and integration support to manufacturing teams.
• Generate documentation for manufacturing, including construction drawings and process work instructions.
• Prepare and process engineering changes (ECNs).
• Support manufacturing and customer service in resolving technical issues.

Internship Projects

• 3D modeling of electrical harness routings and creation of 2D harness specifications for Boston Whaler, Sea Ray, or Navan boat brands.
• Generate engineering changes (ECNs) to release new or improved electrical components, panels, wiring harnesses, or systems into production.
• Install, test, and troubleshoot AC/DC electrical circuits, components, or systems to ensure proper operation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline (minimum two years completed preferred).
• Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Catia, or Pro/E; 3D modeling skills are desirable.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a US Coast Guard safe boating course.
• Boat handling experience.
• Knowledge of or experience in the boating, fishing, or marine industry.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on factors such as year in school, degree progress, relevant skills, experience, and geographic location.
