Electrical Engineer III - IV

Job Responsibilities

• Provides trade-specific system design: layout, calculations (utilizing appropriate software), and coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural, engineering / internal, and external)
• Participates in various trade organizations and prepare presentations
• Manages CAD/BIM and other technical staff that is assigned for particular project or task as directed by the senior engineer and/or senior designer
• Aids in employee reviews as requested
• Estimates construction costs and evaluates feasibility of construction using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)
• Writes engineering proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or senior designer for projects

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical discipline is required.
• 3.5+ to 7+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field
• EIT certification is required
• PE is preferred or alternate certification (Plbg – CPD, BMS – CEM, FLS – NICET & NFPA)
• Demonstrates ability to make proper system selections with/without supervision of senior designer/senior engineer
• Demonstrates ability to understand the work of the other trades
• Possesses expertise in trade specific design and calculation software
• Possesses good dispute resolution skills
• Possesses sufficient knowledge to prepare red marks for CAD personnel to pick-up knowledge to read, review and evaluate floor plans, sections and elevations and visualize three-dimensional space in building construction.
