Electrical Engineer III

This role involves collaboration with clients and partners to deliver projects that improve lives globally, from feasibility through qualification.

About the role

This position offers the opportunity to engage in both client interaction and technical electrical design engineering. You will handle multiple complex projects, mentor less experienced engineers, and contribute to all design phases—feasibility studies, conceptual and schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration. Projects primarily focus on life science industry improvements and new construction.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead electrical design within multi-discipline project teams.
• Coordinate electrical design across disciplines and analyze complex engineering problems to provide effective solutions.
• Assemble and manage bid, approval, and construction issue electrical packages efficiently.
• Check other electrical engineers' work for accuracy and quality; conduct peer reviews.
• Interact professionally with clients, vendors, and field personnel.
• Attend and participate in client and PM Group meetings.
• Conduct site visits to monitor, review, and sign off on electrical installations.
• Create and work in electrical Revit models.
• Undertake other special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of formal experience in industrial engineering design, with life science experience relevant.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License or a committed path to licensure.

Skills

• Proven experience delivering electrical engineering design services, including:
  • Power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting & emergency lighting, small power, voice/data, fire alarm, security, lightning protection, grounding & bonding, hazardous areas, and specialist control systems.
  • Writing narratives for electrical and special systems, including user requirements specifications and sequences of operation.
  • Selection of electrical devices for power, lighting, and special systems.
  • Developing single-line diagrams for electrical power systems.
• Working knowledge of short circuit calculations, load flow, and coordination studies using proprietary software (SKM preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering codes, standards, and industry practices.
• Commercial awareness for value engineering, implementing new technologies, and providing cost-effective solutions.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional, principled, and ethical approach to safety, quality, environmental protection, and business.
• Knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments is relevant.
• Ability to travel as needed for client and project development.
