Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs and/or develops/processes new products, special instruments, and unique equipment to meet specific requirements of customer orders.
- Develops/assesses production or inspection operations and sequences, acceptance equipment and processing methods required to manufacture or inspect complex components and assemblies.
- Maintains and troubleshoots electrical testing of products and identifies test failures.
- Participates in developing operating procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria on new products and components.
- Plans and performs engineering testing and uses advanced statistical and scientific methods to address and resolve engineering and production problems and to assure product manufacturability.
- Refines product definitions, based on knowledge of manufacturing capability, to assure that released designs can be produced.
- Interacts with customers, design agencies, and/or supplier counterparts to resolve moderate design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
- Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for and initiates the most cost-effective improvements for product, test equipment, procedures, and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime.
- Provides project leadership and technical guidance on complex engineering projects.
You Must Have
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited university in Engineering or Physics from and accredited program.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- United States Citizenship.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
