Job Responsibility
- Design and develop hardware and software for use in elevator control systems, such as human-machine interface devices, power electronics (drives), door operators.
- Test design and maintain test processes including hardware, software, and documentation for evaluating the performance of electrical hardware; perform calculations, estimations, and laboratory tests required to verify the soundness and suitability of a design; assist in creating drawings for manufacturing of new parts and products.
- Quality Lead investigation of field turnbacks and perform root cause failure analysis of electrical, electromechanical, and electronic parts and circuitry. Closely work with electronics repair shop to flow data regarding component failures to engineering, ensuring robust closed-loop feedback to the design process. Lead service voice of the customer in new product development to suggest corrective actions to new products to ensure continuous improvement.
- Supply Chain Support for parts availability, quality, and sourcing sustainment for internal and contract manufacturers, driving dual sourcing and cost savings activities for electronics. Preparation of specifications, design of functional test equipment, and support of internal/external initiatives.
- Sustainment and upgrades Develop replacement solutions for components or subsystems which may become obsolete or difficult to obtain. Ability to thoroughly research legacy design functions, listen to the voice of the customer, and determine new design requirements that enable backwards compatibility, improved quality, and more valuable features for the customer.
- Parts / Information Management Create and update spare parts information and related documents in support of field operations and OSC Customer Service.
