ELECTRICAL ENGINEER III

About the role

The Department of Planning & Permitting (DPP), Building Division, Electrical Code Branch, seeks an independent Electrical Engineer to review moderately difficult electrical plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical plans, specifications, and calculations for compliance with safety and code requirements
• Work with architects, engineers, and the public to answer questions and ensure electrical designs meet code
• Work with electrical inspectors to ensure field installations match approved electrical plans and code requirements

Requirements

• Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty
• Two (2) years of non-registered professional (post-bachelor's degree) electrical engineering experience
• Desirable Electrical Engineering Experience: experience reviewing or designing electrical systems for buildings for building infrastructure, familiarity with electrical codes and plan review processes, and applicable skills needed

• At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
