Electrical Engineer - Entry Level

About the role
Assists with the design, development, and testing of electrical equipment, components, or systems. Applies mathematical and engineering principles to support electrical system design under the guidance of senior engineers. Works on projects of limited complexity in a closely managed support role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with designing, developing, executing, and evaluating fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans for minimum-complexity electrical products and components.
- Assist in creating and reviewing electrical material part specifications and bills of materials.
- Use CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) software to develop structural designs, model new concepts, and produce detailed engineering drawings.
- Verify designs through calculations and analytical techniques.
- Understand manufacturing processes, particularly metal fabrication and assemblies, and apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodologies to deliver robust engineering packages that enhance manufacturing productivity.
- Fulfill customer requirements (e.g., shop orders) while adhering to design rules and applicable interface points.
- Define test requirements, interpret test results, and validate designs.
- Identify problems, determine root causes, and execute resolutions.
- Apply lean principles to manufacturing and business processes.
- Execute engineering changes through established processes and documentation.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education.
- 0–2 years of related experience.
Skills
- Proficiency in computer simulation, cost estimation, design optimization, design review, engineering analysis, feasibility studies, mathematical modeling, prototyping, quality assurance, and reliability analysis.
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry standards and vocational practices.
- Experience with CAD and CAE software.
- Familiarity with problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, root cause analysis).
- Experience with statistical techniques and data analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with hourly production employees and leadership on manufacturing initiatives.

Work Environment
General office environment with occasional work on the plant floor as required.
