About the role

Tetra Tech is seeking a Mid to Senior Electrical Engineers in Englewood, CO, Casper, WY, and Billings, MT offices. This position provides electrical and controls design support for pipeline, compressor station, and terminal/tank projects nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design, engineering, and technical expertise to a multi-disciplinary project team in a lead role.
  • Participate in designing, developing, and implementing electrical and controls systems for pipeline, compressor station, and terminal/tank projects.
  • Contribute to the preparation of detailed design documents, specifications, and drawings.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as civil, mechanical, and environmental engineers to ensure comprehensive project designs.
  • Support site commissioning and start-up processes, ensuring smooth operation of the projects.
  • Train junior staff and communicate effectively with peers, contractors, and clients.
  • Handle solo projects as well as work within a team, demonstrating a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Electrical or Controls Engineering, with Oil and Gas experience preferred.
  • P.E. preferred.
  • Proficient with P&IDs, IO lists, circuit schedules, communications, PLC panels, and loop diagrams, and well versed in NFPA 70.
  • Exposure to PLC programming is a plus.
  • Experience specifying, ISA data sheets, procuring instrumentation and control devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-starter capable of handling solo projects as well as working with a group, eager to expand knowledge base, teach others, and be detail oriented.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Revit is desired.

Target salary range: $90,000.00 to $155,000.00. Benefits include:

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Constantly use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials, or manipulate objects.
  • Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • Requires composure and ability to prioritize and handle several urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high level of competence and accuracy.
  • Occasionally climbing stairs and ladders to read meters at active oil & gas sites.
