Electrical Engineer - Building Engineering

Responsibilities

• Cook up work of the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project
• Set up meetings and join in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
• Divvy up the workload to finish the document on time
• Hold work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines
• Check electrical documents for spots of conflict with all disciplines
• Write/edit electrical specifications and pick equipment, electrical systems and devices
• Collaborate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take charge of incorporating agreed-upon changes into the project documents
• Handle construction contract administration as needed
• Inspect Quality Assurance/Quality Control on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators or Technicians
• Do other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired
• Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
• Preference is given to local candidates

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
• Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
