Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control systems for new and existing industrial automation equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards while following industry best practices.
- Proactively identify and resolve reoccurring control system issues by implementing permanent PLC, HMI, and hardware-based solutions to reoccurrence thus maximizing machine uptime and performance.
- Develop and support ICS Network infrastructure and operational data collection for real-time production monitoring.
- Design and maintain electrical documentation including schematics, specifications, and manuals.
- Support maintenance teams with electrical troubleshooting and train personnel on new controls.
- Manage capital projects and coordinate with vendors to ensure equipment meets design specifications.
- Cookordination internal and external personnel on the installation and commissioning activities for new and upgraded equipment.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree* in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 year's experience designing electrical control systems and programming PLCs in industrial automation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workload, shift demands, work independently, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts.
- Ability and willingness to provide engineering support for manufacturing processes for 24/5 operations, including weekends.
- Proficiency with programming and implementation of motor drives, HMIs, Servos, Machine Vision, and industrial networking.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical control systems.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Allen Bradley and/or Rockwell Automation.
- Working knowledge of machine safety such as NEC, NFPA, 70E/79, and ANSI B11 standards.
- Highly analytical mind with exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and ability to read, write, and perform calculations.
